Corruption at it's finest. 300 dollars a month for *** internet really? I am on my way through only bought a week for 50 dollars of garbage internet but what a corrupt low life company. I have been to places that shouldnt have had internet they were so remote and by some miracle they did, they charged half that for better service, and in the middle of baghdad you charget 300? what a corrupt worthless company anything to make a buck off those away from home. And before I hear this you should be happy to have internet *** shut up this is my 4th deployment and I shouldn't be happy to have *** that costs 300 for a month (granted I am just passing through for the week but prices they are obviously ripping us off) i was 11bang bang for two of those deployments so i know what its like to not have internet dosent mean this company isnt trying to screw soldiers over.

Magic Island Technologies Internet
I paid for internet (Magic Island Technologies) and i can only use the laptop i initially signed up with. Even though i have the password it want let me use my Ipod ,Ipad etc. So if my laptop crashes i will be screwed. The internet is fast but if your using more than one device to access the internet you are screwed. Make sure when you sign up that you sign up on the device you will be using the most. Also make sure not to use someone else laptop to pay for you subscription. I also had a few other friend that were double charged for there initial payment for MIT. Make sure to check your bank account if you sign up and make sure they dont do this to you..

Magic Island technologies a rip off
It seems that the only service you can count on is MIT taking your money. MIT service is the worst that I have ever experienced. Forget downloading files and go make some coffee or take a walk while waiting for a page to open. The guy at the service desk barely speaks english and the boss always seems to be away for a week,,,,come back then. WHATEVER!! Some may say to consider where we are and be glad to have any internet but I disagree. If a company sells a product, it should work where it is being sold. Maybe if they invested a little of the money that the customer pays them into equipment that worked they wouldn't have so many pissed off customers.

I signed up for $65 internet svc last night-RIP OFF!!!
Hi fellow soldiers. I've been using Radiusicafe which as u know really *** out here. But at least when you pay your money to them you get a username and password option so that you can use your ipod or iphone anywhere there is a hotspot on the FOB. So I thought I'd give Magic Island a try since they offer a faster service. I signed up $65 last night in my CHU on my laptop. They took my payment and I was expecting a page that allowed me to chose a user name and password. No such luck. I emailed them and some Non-English Understanding Indian person replied with nothing more than click link to register. "Dumba$$ I did this and already paid!" I think to myself as I politely reply to this ignorant pc of trash. He just kept replying to go to link and click "next." I did that and it just links me to google.com. Fortunately I have USAA and will contact them for refund of fee since Magic Island is unable to give acct access after they take your money. Be careful, still seems the best we have after MWR is RadiusCafe-unfortunately.

Internet service provider out to rip soldier's off
I am a soldier in the U.S. Army, currently deployed to Iraq. The telecommunications company, Magic Island Technologies, that monopolizes our internet options here provides the worst service and price out of any ISP I have ever come across. Charging $65 for thirty days, or a meager 5 gigabytes of bandwidth, whichever comes first, their service is barely faster than dial-up most times of the day, making it increasingly difficult to reach loved ones back home. To give a disclaimer on my report, I do realize that in past years of the war that internet connectivity was extremely limited or nonexistent. I also realize that the issues with speed are understandable given the large amount of people on the network, which is powered by satellites. However, now that we are in this stage of the war, internet connectivity *is* ubquitous here, and I believe that it should be provided properly. At the very least, I wonder why with all the hundreds of soldiers paying the ridiculous amount for monthly service, why MIT hasn't been able to make enhancements to their networks in order to provide us with at least marginally better performance and speed. Added to that, I have talked to several of my fellow soldiers who have tried to contact the company continually for support, only to be threatened by the support staff for bothering them. For a company that is supposed to be providing a line of communication back home to our families and loved ones, MIT does a horrible job and insults the work we do here with their overpriced and inadequate service.

Ignorance!
1 Megabit of bandwidth in Iraq costs $250 per month in Iraq vs. PENNIES in the US! Get a grip!
Each package doubles in price, but does not seem to double in performance. This wifi is complete ***, but better than nothing. If you have the option, go with Netgate.
This what you are *** on your comment is all false, we are in Baghdad and we all use MIT service, very recently they made these another packages available because of the requests that they had for higher prices and of course that will cost you more money. You have to know one thing that whoever comes here form the States you have to be aware that you are in Iraq and i am sure MIT pays a lot of money to their providers for their bandwidth.
And don't forget that this company has best support team ever. We are happy to have MIT operating here, thanks
I can't seem to connect my iPad to MIT. It gets the signal, but never commits to connecting to it.
Come on dude. It does not cost 300 dollars a month.
I pay 65a month and is as good as where I came from using Sniperhill for 110 a month.
Bash the company if you want to but don't be a complete liar. Anyone that has been here or is here now knows you are a liar.
